Our online application form uses an electronic service to verify your identity by checking your information against external databases.
Before you get started, please make sure the device you are using to complete the form has a camera. You will be asked to take a photo of yourself and a photo of your identity document so we can compare them and verify your identity. You will also need to have the following information handy:
- Your IRD number. You can find this on your payslip, on letters or statements from Inland Revenue or by logging in to your myIR Secure Online Services account.
- Some current identification, either a current New Zealand passport or New Zealand driver licence. This allows us to verify your identity electronically.
- Your prescribed investor rate (PIR). We use the PIR to pay tax on your behalf on any investment earnings. You can find out more about PIRs here.
